For adults, the need for body fluids can be easily met. When thirsty, adults can easily pick up water and consume it. But what about the children? Do they need as much water as adults? Then how do they meet the needs of the liquid?

At the age of the children, meeting the needs of the liquid tends to depend on parents or the adults around them. And this is one of the most crucial for their growth period. Children need plenty of fluids to the body as weight gain and growth. For children aged 4-8 years need is a 1.6 liter fluid (6-7 glasses) a day.

Children aged 9 years and over fluid needs as an adult is 2 liters (8 cups) a day.

However, now the problem is sometimes difficult to determine and regulate how much water is consumed by children, especially if they go to school every day. Moreover, according to a study many children who do not get adequate fluid intake while in school. So what to do to get children to drink regularly? Here are some easy tips you can do!

Offer water in children on a regular basis even though children may not feel thirsty. Because when you feel thirsty, your body actually already have a shortage of fluids.

Tell them that their bodies need water to move

Familiarize children drink enough at breakfast before going to school.

Suggest to the teacher at school to encourage their students to drink during breaks.

When your child says that he is thirsty, respond immediately. To cultivate the habit of drinking healthy, he should offer water instead of sweetened beverages.

For children who are great, always have a bottle of water to bring them to school.

Keep an eye on the number of high-sugared drinks that your child drinks.

If your child wants to drink beverages that taste, try adding a piece of orange or natural flavorings.

Encourage your school-age children to drink water before, during and after exercise

Make sure your child to drink water while doing extracurricular activities like sports and play

Give a good example! Be firm and grow in a healthy drinking habit yourself. That way, you will develop good habits early on in your child with a decrease in those nice things you normally do.

By applying the above ways, the child's fluid requirement can be met and they would be used to bring healthy habits into adulthood. So, let's teach your child to drink water regularly as early as possible!
